A 41-year-old Dutchman has faced court in Perth accused of possessing more than 14 kilograms of meth amphetamines.
Sjoerd Rogier Segaar was arrested last week after Australian Federal Police officers allegedly found the drugs at a house in the Perth suburb of Scarborough.
He is accused of being part of a major drug network, operating out of Sydney.
Mr Segaar made a brief appearance in the Perth Magistrates Court today charged with possessing a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance later this month.
The AFP has charged three other men in Sydney in connection with the alleged drug ring.

Ik ken het daar zo'n beetje: een goudkust met veel (vrijstaande) luxe woningen, dure appartementen (aan zee) etc, nachtclubs met rijen Porches en Ferrari's voor de deur. Maar geen Zandvoort-toestanden want daarginds geldt in bars en restaurants: no shirt, no shoes, no entry. En security aan de deur.Toch schietpartijen tussen bendes, dus altijd opletten waar je binnengaat en het overzicht houden. Verder een aantal op het oog lege kantoorcomplexen: uitwijkplaatsen voor multinationals en andere grote jongens. Vallen er bommen op Hongkong, Singapore of waar dan ook, of is er een aardbeving, vliegen ze daarheen en vinden alles gebruiksklaar.
